S.C.O.T. Member Jeremy Lakey designed a Tartan for his family and then figured out the process for getting that Tartan Registered with the Register of Tartans, administered by the National Records of Scotland, making the Lakey Family Tartan a Registered Tartan, listed forever more, and can be viewed here. What a brilliant and inspiring achievement. The determination and drive to follow through on such an endeavor is a rare quality indeed. During Jeremy’s presentation, he will share his story and experience with us. Having Jeremy as a Member of the S.C.O.T. is a blessing. I believe that his experience will be useful to many of our Members who have had the same dream. Jeremy is planning to be wearing the Tartan that he designed, as he has contracted to have a Run of his Tartan made & then turned into a Kilt. A fine debut for certain.

The Children’s Activities Committee, nicknamed Nessie’s Nest, has a very fun activity planned for this Gathering. Jamie Miller enlisted her School’s Art department to create some paper machete eggs with a surprise inside for our youngsters. As such a head count of attending Children is important so no one is left out. In addition to that, Christopher Melton will be in attendance as King Oberon along with his Wife, Rebecca, as Queen Titania to read the Legend of the First Unicorn by Lori Don. A story our adults will enjoy as well.
Thank you and looking forward to seeing you there. Don't forget to RSVP by filling out this form.
*Please remember. If you are a member, dinner is $5. If you are not a paid member, dinner is $20. First time guests are always free. To pre-pay for your Supper, please visit https://scottishcluboftulsa.com/gatherings

The May Gathering will be out of the ordinary this year. To all of our Members that have shared with our President that the Annual Meeting is “BORING”. We haven’t forgotten you.
This year will be a welcomed change as we add activities, challenges, prizes, and a Silent Auction with the possibility of a Live Auction event to the Evening.
Of course, the very important business of the S.C.O.T. will be presented in the Annual State of the Club Address and Elections will also be held this evening. It is at this time that Awards are presented as the Council recognizes those Members who help to make a difference for the S.C.O.T.

**Please note that the June Gathering is taking place on the 3rd Saturday this month.
The June Gathering is one of the most important Gatherings on the S.C.O.T. Calendar as everything that happens in May during the Annual Meeting is meaningless if there is not a proper Installation of Officers. This Inauguration is required by the S.C.O.T. Constitution and is expected to be a formal event to recognize those Members who have stepped forward from the general membership to Serve their fellows and the Club as an organization. These volunteers need to be properly honored and respected for the significant sacrifice that lies ahead of them.
The Annual Cookout/Picnic will follow the prestigious Installation of Officers at the American Legion where we will have the security of indoor and outdoor access regardless of what the weather conditions may be. Too hot? No problem. Too cool? We have that covered as well. Rainy? No more worrying the President into a mini-stroke. We will persevere.
We will have patio & grill access. A fantastic grill at that! No more rotted rusted falling apart grills to contend with. There has even been some talk about a Bounce House for the littles as well as the many yard games that A.J. and Becky Parks purchased on behalf of the Club for last year’s cookout.
Now, is the time to mark this date down in your Calendars.
The Club will be providing burgers and beef dogs. Members are asked to bring a picnic side corresponding with the first letter of their last name, and we love it when you bring a dish of Scottish origin!
A-F: Salads
G-L: Chips / Dips / Snacks
